Over Half of OC Cities Support the Anaheim Hills Veterans Cemetery

(Santa Ana, CA) – Supervisor Donald P. Wagner, working with the VALOR veterans organization and numerous local officials, announced today that 19 out of 34 cities in Orange County now support designating Anaheim Hills as the preferred Orange County location for a State veterans’ cemetery. Since taking office in 2019, Supervisor Wagner has collaborated with officials at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels to bring OC veterans a dignified cemetery and soon. He has also partnered with various veterans’ groups to come to a consensus on where to break ground.

Cities that have approved the Veterans Cemetery in Anaheim Hills are:

  • Anaheim
  • Brea
  • Buena Park
  • Costa Mesa
  • Dana Point
  • Garden Grove
  • Huntington Beach
  • La Palma
  • Laguna Niguel
  • Laguna Woods
  • Lake Forest
  • Mission Viejo
  • Newport Beach
  • Orange
  • San Juan Capistrano
  • Santa Ana
  • Tustin
  • Villa Park
  • Yorba Linda

Every city council has been unanimous in its support for the Anaheim Hills site.

“The clock is ticking for our veterans, and OC still does not have a cemetery dedicated for those who fought for and defended our country. We are finding unanimous support across OC for the Anaheim Hills site. Our veterans have always been there for us. Now we have a perfect opportunity to be there for them,” said Supervisor Wagner.
If you would like to support our veterans’ desire to have a hometown cemetery site, please contact your local city council and encourage the adoption of a resolution supporting the Anaheim Hills site.
